Raj was born and raised in Scarborough. As a first-generation Canadian, he deeply appreciates the challenges of building something when the odds are against you. Growing up, Raj spent his summers working at summer camps, on construction sites, and volunteering within his community. His upbringing taught him the importance of a relentless work ethic, a people-oriented mindset, and a desire to one day face the challenges & opportunities associated with operating his own business.

Raj established Dark Horse with the ambition to create a unique investment firm that not only identifies potential but nurtures and elevates businesses to their next chapter of growth.

Before founding Dark Horse, Raj was a C-level executive at Dynamic Connections, a leading third-party logistics firm in Oakville, ON. In this role, he was instrumental in scaling the company’s HR function, spearheading its M&A integration strategy, and enhancing the sales, operations, and technology departments. His efforts were pivotal to growth and advancing the company's mission.

Prior to Dynamic Connections, Raj was an investor at Imperial Capital, a premier mid-market private equity firm in Toronto. There, he played a key role in the growth of two consumer services companies, alongside assessing numerous investment opportunities within the business services, software, and healthcare sectors.

Raj received his Honours Bachelor's degree from the University of Waterloo, in Accounting and Financial Management. He enjoys sports, mixed martial arts, and traveling with his wife.
